Healed: Without a Doubt

Fourth Sunday after the Epiphany and Communion Sunday. Rev. Daniel F. Bogre will begin the sermon series, “Healed,” with a sermon based on Matthew 8:5-13.

The centurion believed without a doubt that Jesus was a man of power and authority.

By now word had spread after Jesus had preached the Sermon on the Mount.

The word had also spread by this time of Jesus healing those with various diseases, those suffering severe pain, those who were demon-possessed, those having seizures, and the paralyzed.

Jesus had healed them all.

The centurion knew who Jesus was, is, and who he came to be as God’s one and only Son.

It is because of that the centurion came to Jesus to have his servant healed.

It was never a question of if Jesus can heal his servant, it was merely a question of when.

The centurion even told Jesus how it could be done. Faith—without a doubt.
