Yes, it is already Lent. And, as you know, at RRUMC for Advent and Lent, we choose a book to be our guide and foundation on which those seasons find their way into our hearts. This season of Lent is no different.
“The Third Day,” this year’s Lent study, will connect us with Peter, Mary Magdalene, Thomas, and others as they transitioned from the despair of losing Jesus to the surprise and joy that awaited them in the resurrection.
The nursery school is pleased to announce we collected over 300 pairs of new socks to give directly to Story Church.
Each February, Heart Month is an annual observance dedicated to raising awareness about hearth health and cardiovascular diseases.
I know that usually my article looks forward to the month ahead, but this time I am reflecting back on the year 2024, which is now in our rearview mirror.

The Discipleship Committee, which is best known for facilitating the Advent & Lenten studies and Disciple studies, continues to work on the development of the Sunday morning “Koinonia: Faith & Fellowship” ministry.
I pray that God is about to do a new thing in you in 2025. I pray that, with each passing day, what John the Baptist said in the Gospel of John 3:30, “He must become greater; I must become less,” becomes the very way that God is about to do a new thing in you and in me.

Nursery School registration for the 2025-2026 school year will be open December 1 for returning families and church members.

We will celebrate Consecration Sunday by praying over the cards and what God is doing in and through the people of this wonderful church. Please remember that we set the upcoming year’s budget based on what you as a church write down on those Estimate of Giving Cards. That is why it is so important that you return them by November 10.
March tends to be a month of transitions. We begin to turn our themes downstairs into spring ideas, spring thoughts, and visions for the future months.
