After more than a decade of steadfast commitment, Rocky River United Methodist Church (RRUMC) is celebrating the retirement of Rebecca (Becky) Riddlebaugh.
As we move closer to spring, there is a real sense of gratitude and hope bubbling up here at Story Church. Even in the midst of these cold days and long winter nights, God continues to provide, connect, and surprise us in beautiful ways.
Thank You to the Rotary Club of Lakewood & Rocky River for again awarding a grant of $2,500 to our Twice Blessed Free Store (TBFS), directed to the purchase of socks, undergarments and towels to be distributed to our neighbors in need.
Our teachers are finally feeling like we are back on track - looking forward to a more normalized March. Also - secretly hoping for a little bit warmer weather with some sunny days mixed in!

As we move further into January, I pray your year has begun with moments where God’s grace and blessings are unmistakable. Just yesterday, the early morning sky lit up with brilliant pinks, purples, and oranges — a vivid reminder that our God truly is an awesome God.
Lent is a time of preparation, reflection, and prayer when we grow in faith, refocus spiritually, and prepare for Easter. This Lent we, as a congregation, will observe the season through the study, “Remember: God’s Covenants and the Cross,” written by Susan Robb.
This is a full-time (40 hours per week) position. The Administrative Secretary provides essential organizational, communication, and administrative support to ensure the smooth daily operations of the church office.

School resumes on January 5. It usually takes about a week to get back in the swing of things; reviewing rules and routines.
I am beyond overjoyed to share some wonderful news with you: Story Church, our Cleveland campus of Rocky River UMC, has been awarded a $100,000 East Ohio Conference Vitality Grant for 2026.
Once again, I cannot believe that they are all in our rearview mirror already. So, now we see that 2026 is on our doorstep. What is your plan for 2026?

God continues to move in beautiful ways through our volunteers, our neighbors, and the ministries that bring us all together.
A small Harvest Celebration included gardeners weeding and turning over garden soil. A weed barrier of cardboard was put in place. After the first frost, garlic will be sown in the herb garden for spring harvest.
Oh, how Christmas brings out excitement in children! The school will stay in session for roughly 3 weeks through December and then there is a two-week Christmas break for students, teachers, and staff.

On November 16, we celebrated Consecration Sunday as we look into God’s plans for the year 2026. On that day, we took the time as a church to prayerfully consider what God is calling us to give, what God is calling us to consecrate to Him, and his plans for 2026.

The Nursery School is gearing up for their annual PJ’s & Popcorn fall singing program. We will be closed Thursday, November 6, and Friday, November 7, as we follow the RRCSD calendar.
Fall is here, and harvesting is underway at the community garden.
Through the generosity of all of our RRUMC friends and family, we continue ministries that help people meet Jesus Christ in the midst of their stories.
Beginning on March 1, scholarship applications are available for high school seniors and current college students.
